What is the Kingdom of God?

I believe the kingdom of God is representing the glory of God. The kingdom of God is eternal. The kingdom of humans (kings) may not last for eternal for the reason that humans (kings) are mortal. According to the book of Revelation, the Kingdom of God will still stand beyond the end of the earth.

First, Jesus Christ is the king of His kingdom. The kingdom means the sovereign, righteous rule of Christ both in the present and future. According to the bible, Jesus will rule His kingdom with power, judgment, mercy, love and righteousness. The first step to become citizen in the kingdom of God is to believe Jesus as personal lord and savior. Jesus Christ is the gateway between the kingdom of the world and the kingdom of God. The lordship of Christ in one’s life is essential in the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God will not ruined by one’s rejection of Jesus’ Kingship over one’s life.

Second, the objective of the kingdom is intended for believers. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus put the kingdom of God above all the priorities. Therefore, Jesus’ lordship required placing the kingdom of God above all. Jesus and His kingdom demand faithfulness from the believers for the glory of God the Father. In the kingdom of God we could not serve two masters. To sum up, I can say that the kingdom of God is neither the church nor believers rather the church and the believers are in the kingdom and for the kingdom of God.

Third, one to emergent into the kingdom of God is to fulfilling the will of God in his or her life (Matthew 6:10). Jesus said His kingdom is not of this world. In the kingdom Jesus is the king and the fulfillment of God the Father’s will is above all the priorities.
