Women in the Ministry and Mission

The historical statistic shows that female group has been contributing significantly to human society despite of oppression from male group. Stan Guthrie has positive views upon females’ roles in Christian mission and ministry.
I suppose secular world is open more job and position towards females than the church. If we look into modern working family, we will see that the role of the wife is as important as the husband. Therefore, the power in the home is split into two; either half to the husband and half to the wife nor 60 percent to the husband and 40 percent to the wife. In secular society the gap between male and female has been narrow down, for example more and more female playing top leadership roles in political society and business world then
before (e.g. Gloria Macapagal-Arroy; Margaret Thatcher; Angela Merkel; Michaëlle Jean; Hillary Rodham Clinton).
As a result of secular feminist movements, more females are actively involved in currant mission field and now they make up two-third of the mission force. According to both secular and mission movement, we can say that more women will overtake many positions in both secular and mission organization. Above statistic shows that women can do something effectively in church ministries and in mission organizations. In the past women’s role was just good housewives and supporting their husbands who are missionaries. However, the author indicates that the women are the backbone of missionary effort. In present mission field, most of females are serving as trainers, personal assistant to organization leaders and a few numbers of them are leader in their organization. Basically, no one is jobless in the
kingdom of God. The future for women in mission is become brighter than ever as women are more and more curious to uncover their God given gifts.
Despite of oppression and discrimination against them, the women group has been positively contributing to today’s mission. One of the caution for women group will be their attitude towards mission, the reason of their involvement in mission must not just because to match against men’s dominion over them.
