Genesis 1=> Genesis 3=> Genesis 12 (Deuteronomy 11:8-12)
Genesis 1: 9-13
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb thatyields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 3:17-19
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. 18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring
forth for you,And you shall eat the herb of the field.19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat
bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.”
Genesis 12: 1-3
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
Deuteronomy 11:8-12
8 Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 9 and so that you may live long in the land the LORD swore to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. 11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. 12 It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
Without having rightful Relationship with God we could not have harmonious relationship with anyone or with anything.
Genesis 1 and 3 recorded one of the most significant shifts in human relationship with others especially in this case with the land. The original responsibility of the land is to bring forth fruit trees and other plants necessary for living being to survive on the Land.
The fall of man reverse the creation order of God. The land become void which now produce only thrones and become curse land. The land is now barren and thorny.
The fall of man not only affects their relationship with God, it also affected man and animal kingdom’s relationship, man and the land’s relationship.
The broken relationship with God leads man into other broken relationships. In order to repair and restore the broken relationship God choose Abraham in Genesis 12 and promised to give him a LAND. We called it the Promised Land. For the inhabitant in the Promised Land their relationship with God is the first and foremost important priority above everything (Especially Exodus 19-20, Deuteronomy 6: These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life).
Final and Perfect restoration for broken relationship between God and man was accomplished and offer to mankind through Christ Jesus as a result of His total submission to the will of God the Father. The Tabernacle, Temple, and Priestly system (Exodus 25) offered limited atonement for man’s sin and temporal reconciliation. However, Christ the unblemished sacrifice and the only perfect high priest mediator between God and man offer permanent reconciliation and restoration (A sacrifice such that God will remember sins no more Heb 8:12, Heb 9:15, Heb 10:3-7,17 ; A sacrifice of his own blood not a substitute Heb 9:12, Heb 13:12, Heb 10:5-7; A sacrifice for eternal redemption Heb 9:12-15; A sacrifice to fully cleanse the conscience Heb 9:9,14, Heb 10:1-2,22, Lev 11:23-47; A sacrifice made once for all Heb 10:10-14; A sacrifice that made the impossible possible Heb 12:2-3, Heb 13:11-13, Heb 11:24-26)[1]
Isaiah (Isaiah 11) prophesied about the restoration work of Christ who is the branch from Jesse. Isaiah foresees the harmonious relationship between Man and Animal kingdom as well as within animal kingdom. He said “6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together; and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den, the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”
The sins of man destroyed the beautiful Relationship that God Establish between all His creations. However, God initiated to bring back His original creational state of harmonious relationship through the reconciliation work of Jesus Christ.
Beautiful and Harmonious relationship is God’s gift to mankind to maintain it. It is impossible not to have God in the picture of harmonious relationship. Without God it is impossible to have rightful and harmonious relationship. God is the one who give beautiful relationship and the one who restore all the broken relationship. Man need to have the Heart that Fear Only God. There will be no harmony within family, in society, and in a nation without people who Fear God more than anything. The Fear of the Lord is the Key for Harmonious Relationship. If we Fear the Lord we will have No fear of Evil. Broken relationship is the result of man’s disobedient to God but Beautiful relationship can be restore in the life of people who subject themselves to Fear the Lord more than anything. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of all Wisdom.
